New Zealand

New Zealand adds an adventure twist to nature. A country of stunning and diverse natural beauty: jagged mountains, rolling pasture land, steep fiords, pristine trout-filled lakes, raging rivers, scenic beaches.

Queenstown: Our journey starts off at adrenaline filled city of Queenstown where we did skydiving, bungy jumping and jetboating.

Te Anau: The gateway to Fiordland National Park and Milford Sound. The drive towards Milford Sound via Te Anau was the most scenic of all.

Wanaka: The most picturesque town of NZ. Lake Wanaka and Roy’s Peak offer spectacular view of each other. Even though, Roy’s Peak is a 6 hours hike but you will be rewarded with the most stunning view of nature.

Franz Josef: Weather at the western coast of NZ is often rainy. Packed with lush green forest and winding road, it offers a different terrain compared to the rest of NZ. Due to the rainy weather, our glacier hike was cancelled. But we managed to get our first milky way experience, sky full of stars across the whole night sky.

Lake Tekapo: Home to the turquoise coloured lake and famous Hooker Valley track to Mt Cook. It is also a UNESCO Dark Sky Reserve, making it the perfect spot for stargazing.

Iceland

Iceland is a magnificent and glorious country leaving you awestruck with her beauty, at every corner you turn.

The Ring Road – 1,332km in distance, circles the island and connects most of the inhabited parts of the country.

Journeying from a bird’s eye view was one of the highlights, captured in this video. And topping it was catching the Northern Lights while we were least expecting it!

Hope you will enjoy Iceland through our lenses.

Europe (Part 1)

This epic Europe trip started from Singapore-London-Edinburgh-Isle of Skye-Amsterdam-Paris-Cinque Terre-Siena-Rome and back to Singapore (24,782 km in total). Each country/city is distinctively different yet unique. Part 1 of our travelogue features London, Scotland and Amsterdam.

London was a lovely city despite her being foggy and cold. We had many good food like Poppies, Burger and Lobster and even had high tea the English way. It was very nice to commute around because people were friendly and communication was easy. We also stayed in a superb airbnb, which we highly recommend.

Scotland was full of surprises. The weather can be very erratic during December – experiencing strong winds and blizzard when we were at Isle of Skye. We had to drive super slowly on the icy road. Not forgetting the best lobster soup of our lives. Thank God for the pockets of good weather in Isle of Skye for good photo opportunities!

Amsterdam was a beautiful city – her houses were neatly lined up and each home has its own creative interior design. Zaanse Schans was super charming and it was a pleasure just taking a slow stroll there. We entered into one of the windmill and learnt how the mechanisms of the windmill were used to produce linseed oil. Lastly, we ate at the famous Castell, famous for their steaks and ribs to end this leg of the trip.

Europe (Part 2)

This epic Europe trip started from Singapore-London-Edinburgh-Isle of Skye-Amsterdam-Paris-Cinque Terre-Siena-Rome and back to Singapore (24,782 km in total). Each country/city is distinctively different yet unique. Part 2 of our travelogue features Paris, Milan, Cinque Terre, Tuscany and Rome.

Paris, the city of love with an unending list of iconic places to visit. Though both Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower were filled with the usual streams of tourist, they are both definitely worth a visit. Champs Elysees was of course a nice area to shop at and not forgetting the Lafayette building. One of the highlights of being in Paris was having lunch with Michelle and Eric at a one Michelin Star restaurant where we tried the very authentic French main – rabbit meat. Its not as bad as we thought! Montmartre was an eyeopener, watching talented street artists sketching life-liked portraits. Lastly, we did what most tourists would do, which was braving the crowd to see the one and only Mona Lisa at the Louvre.

Milan was a short stopover but Duomo was definitely a sight to behold. We randomly walked into a cafe for lunch and then had the best ice coffee in our lives! (I swear upon my life it’s freaking awesome). Another learning experience was driving inside certain restricted zones in Milan and then learning more about the District C restriction.

Cinque Terre was magical, especially in winter. The weather was much bearable comparing to summer and there wasn’t any crowd at all. We would recommend taking the train into Cinque Terre because the villages are sitting along the hills near the coast, thus making driving difficult and time consuming.

Tuscany was lovely where Siena was a quaint city with hardly any tourists. We took a slow stroll to Piazza del Campo to have our dinner which was a beautiful place to be at. The Tower of Pisa was preserved very well and definitely an interesting photo spot where 9/10 of tourist were attempting to ‘lean’ / ‘push’ it. We (the girls) then went to The Mall for some crazy shopping.

Rome was an alluring city with all the ancient architectures. We covered lots of places by going for 2 tours. We went to the Vatican City Museum, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter Basilica, Colosseum, Palestine Hills and Roman Forum – ticking off many items off our Bucket’s List.

Niseko Season 19/20

My 3rd season at Niseko and it never fails to mesmerize me. I’m able to challenge myself to attempt some backcountry snowboarding. Hike up the beautiful Mt Yotei and conquered the Hirafu and Annupuri peak gates.

Big shoutout to Yutaro Weng and Clara Tan. Thank you both for your hospitality and friendship. Thank you Yutaro Weng for guiding a novice like me up Mt Yotei, it was truly an amazing achievement and experience. Hope to ride along with you both again soon. All the best with life in Canada.

“When snow surfing, you are putting yourself in an environment away from daily life and ruled by the laws of nature. And to be able to make the most of these fields, in other words the mountain and it’s climate, you need to learn about them, stay humble and be conscious of your own limits.” – Taro Tamai

Niseko Season 18/19

My second season here in Niseko and it’s nothing short of amazing. This time round I left my drone and gopro at home because I wanted to concentrate on riding.

During days where the lifts were closed due to strong winds, I brought the camera around town to capture the beautiful snowy landscape and the people around it.

Niseko Season 17/18

Totally in awe by the powdered-like snowy landscapes that Niseko provided us with – nothing could compare! We were told by a local that the snow level for 80% of this season was at least 12m tall!

Got to know a group of amazing friends and bonded over falling on snow, slurping ramen and warming ourselves up with a hot sake and beer. Definitely will be back next season and here’s wishing you could enjoy this firsthand as well!

Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta is a city filled with religious/cultural discoveries and also adventures out in the nature. Immerse yourself with the most stunning sunrise and sunset you’ll ever experience. Be teleported back time, when you visit the magical Borobudur Buddhist temple and Prambanan Hindu temple. Watch the spectacular theatre performance of an ancient Hindu love story, the Ramayana Ballet, perform on an outdoor stage set against the stunning backdrop of the Prambanan Temple. Embark on a journey to the speculator Timang Beach and ride on the man powered wooden cable car to Watu Panjang Island. Descend 80 metres down the ancient forest to explore inside the Jomblang Cave. Hike up Mount Merbabu to catch the magnificent sunrise above the clouds. And yes, the last video is a giant building in the shape of a chicken, but the architect/visionary actually wanted it to look like a dove. It’s a prayer house meant for all religion to use. Safe stay during this period and of course I hope to be able to travel soon again when all this is over. To be able to experience new terrains and meet random people along the way. Take care and see you all soon

Mt Bromo & Mt Ijen

We saw the likes of Yosemite, Swiss Alps, Tibet/Bhutan, Sahara desert, Mt Fuji all in the amazingly beautiful East Java; Mt Ijen and Mt Bromo.

Mt Ijen (2,799m in elevation) has a one-kilometer-wide turquoise-colored acidic crater lake which have a pH level of 0.5 due to sulfuric acid. The lake is the site of a labor-intensive sulfur mining operation, in which sulfur-laden baskets are carried by hand from the crater floor. Blue Fire can be seen in pitch black darkness at the sulfur mining site.

Mt Bromo (2,329m in elevation) sits in the middle of a vast plain called the “Sea of Sand” which are the ashes from previous eruptions. During Hindu festival, fruit, rice, vegetables, flowers and sacrifices of livestock are thrown into the caldera of the volcano to make offerings to the mountain gods. The volcanic threat alert was at level 3 when we were there… and eruption is at level 5.

French Riviera

A short video that capture our adventure along the French Riviera. Stop by 3 different cities, Nice, Cannes and Eze, which offer different vibes and sceneries.

Cannes is a beautiful modern city with well dressed individuals walking around. Nice luxury brands and posh hotels along the coastline.

Nice has a nice area called Old Town (Vieille Ville), which offers an ancient vibe. Do not miss the Castle Hill when you are there, very nice viewpoints.

Eze, only managed to head to Le Jardin exotique d’Eze which sits on top of the Eze Village. Have alot of historical value in the village itself and unobstructed view of the French Rivieria.
